More green campaign

Where would you like to see more green?

Wageningen aims to plant more trees and replace tiles with greenery. We would love to harness your knowledge and inspiration for this! Do you see spots in the city where you think there's room to plant an extra tree? Or do you know of a place where pavement/concrete can make way for greenery? We'd love to hear from you!

From May 1st to June 1st, 2024, the municipality is gathering all ideas via stemvan.wageningen.nl. To participate, select a spot on the map in Wageningen. Share how we can green up this spot in a meaningful way. You can submit as many spots as you like. After June 1st, we'll review all submissions and choose the top 10. These will be implemented next winter.

Why are we doing this?

The climate is changing. Summers are becoming hotter and drier, and there are more frequent heavy rainfalls. Trees provide cooling. Additionally, greenery helps rainwater infiltrate the ground better. Furthermore, research shows that people are happier in a green environment.
